Infinite Machine gets into full swing with their first release on 15th of August by our very own Admin, featuring remixes by Mirror State and Neat. The EP includes the two original tracks 'Inside of You' and 'No Reason', alongside two remixes of the title track. There are definitely big things to come from this developing label. The Independent Record Label based in Montreal, Canada says 

"The aim of the label is to release and promote the music and friends we love. More directed to Bass Music,Post-Dubstep,UK Garage between more"

Infinite Machine continues it's good show of form with more releases to come including Bwana (who we featured in our last post) and B flat.

We talked to Bwana on his impending move to the UK and we discussed why music from these Isles is just so damn good!

What has made you decide to come live here? I'm very happy to hear you are enjoying our blog, it means much, what do you mostly listen to from the UK?

"I'm moving there for a year(and hopefully I can stay longer) to attend the University of Leeds. Its great because I live on the music that comes from over there(UK) and as well the tunes I've been making have started to gain some attention and I hope that by moving there I can meet some people in the scene, get better at production and as well as just finally be able to hear all my favourite stuff in a live environment.....in Toronto the majority of the bass music nights are just an ode to Skrileex hahahaha and for the last 3 or 4 years, all I've wanted is to go to DMZ."

"As for the music I listen to from the UK...well pretty with the exception of a few producers, pretty much all the music I'm listening to at the moment is from the UK hahah. I'm an avid follower of the Grime scene, and I love this huge UK bass movement that has emerged that seems to be blurring the lines between garage, dubstep and even house...and the best part is that half the tunes are being made by random kids in their rooms! I listen to far too much Garage or Future Garage as they are calling it now and am still awstruck when I hear anything by Coki, Mala or Kryptic Minds...unfortunately though neither of the three have been booked to come to Toronto. I should mention that at the moment my favorite producer is XI, who is actually from my hometown of Toronto. Ironically I first heard him on the Marry Anne Hobbes show as opposed to just seeing him here, but in any case, the tune they showed from his 'ghost' blew my mind and it really inspired me in that he showed with the right sound, a Canadian could have as much of an impact on the scene as anyone from the UK and 'filthy wobbles' wasn't the only route to international recognition."

iO, otherwise know as FLN has started a side project which seems to have sprung up from nowhere. Taking on a more garage/bass rhythm, in less than a month, four solid tracks have been broadcast. However I'm confident that these took time, a lot of consideration to make and where probably held closely to the chest! The decisive standout for me would be 'Hospital Walls', with an intro which took me straight away. Trust me, I didn't expect what was to come after the kick, so i won't spoil the surprise. Lets just say it is pretty fucking heavy. Saying that I don't want to take away from the fact that each of the tracks is fantastic in it's own unique way. From 'Patchworks' variety of rolling drum motions teamed with vocals that take on all levels of pitch, to 'Dirty Little Secret', a dirty little 808 roller! Under the alias of FLN, Rob Burn has also produced some sickening jungle so also make sure to take a gander at that too.

Introduce yourself. Who are you, what do you do and where do you do it? 

My names Joe. I'm a producer from a quiet little town up north called Frodsham. Lived there all my life since about 8 months ago when I started my degree at Uni of Arts London. I'm pooting along with my course, but I'm enjoying London for the scene. With the somewhat iconic 'boiler room' just 2 minutes away from my Halls, I'm starting to realise this is the place I need to be!

How did it all begin?

God knows really man. I've always dabbled. One of my mates was an MC and I couldn't do that for shit, so I just downloaded Fruity Loops and started making beats.

What are your musical roots and what is doing it for you at the moment? 

Just always loved music. I can't pinpoint one moment where I've been into it less than I am now. It's always been pretty important to me. So I have tooooo many roots man! Hip-Hop, House, Garage, Soul, R&B, Grime... List goes on really. You could play me an old grimey banger like Ruff Sqwads 'Tings in Boots', or a Rhodes and Bass fuelled slow jam like 'What You Won't Do For Love' by Bobby Caldwell, and I would be chuffed with either haha. At the moment I'm just engulfed by UK Bass music. Everyones making huge tunes at the moment. Whether it's coming out of Hessle Audio, R&S, Punch Drunk, Pictures Music, Young Turks... It's usually amazing stuff. Even the upcoming labels like Four 40 Records, 3rdeyeldn and Bullet Train, all releasing great tracks.

Can you tell us a bit about your setup and how you build tracks?

My uni room desk is just filled with my equipment, it never sees uni work! Couple of sub standard old monitor speakers, my trusty old HP Pavillion computer, M-Audio midi keyboard and my Traktor S4 Kontrol. I produce on Reason 4.0 because I'm shocking at torrenting and have never been able to get hold of the better software like Cubase or Ableton. Its all right to work with though and I'm well comfortable with it.. but I will be switching to something else soon probably! When building the tracks I usually just grab an acapella, chop up the hell out of it, make something cool sounding and go from there. I always start with the vocal though, I just find my tunes come out better that way.

Are you planning anything in the way of bigger projects?

I'm half chilling now really. My first EP was released a couple months ago now and it's doing well. It's being helped along by some big backings like International DJ Magazine and everyone is just being well helpful asking me to do interviews, mixes, collabs ,remixes just to get me out there! I'm having fun with it all at the moment! I've nearly finished the next material I'm going to put out. Haven't spoke to labels or anything yet but there will be another release from me soon!
